At Awa Business School, our professors practice what they teach. Our professors are skilled professionals with industry experience. Our professors include Directors, Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Chief Digital Officers, and Chief Marketing Officers.

 

FACULTY

Our academic team have supported more than 13,000 students, including the UK and international students. Since launching its enterprise and innovation programme in March 2018, it has been supported by the Mayor of London’s Business Growth Programme, Business Legacies: East London Business Place, and the European Commission’s Enterprise Europe Network.

Dr Lilian Carvalho

Selected by NASA as a data scientist for the Datanauts program for the fall 2018 term. She has been Director of the Digital Marketing lab at EAESP (FGV / Redes), and also worked as a visiting researcher at the John Molson School of Business - Concordia University (Montreal). She was awarded a PhD in Marketing from Sao Paulo Business School (FGV-EAESP). Dr Carvalho is a co-author of the book ‘Basic in Business’ which has sold more than 120,000 copies.

Mr Seye Adetumbi

A Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers and the Convener of Capital Market Roundtable in Nigeria. He started his working career in the capital market in 1990 as a Corporate Finance Executive after his MBA programme. For over 27 years he worked with various financial intermediary and banking service providers until he established Value Investing Limited in 2008 as the Chief Responsibility Officer. He has worked as a consultant to DFID, PYXERA Global, and state governments in Nigeria. He has published 12 books and over 200 articles on the financial market, development economics, politics, biographies, ethics, culture and tradition. He established Mindscope Africa as a publishing company in 2012 towards building economic activities around his passion.

Ms Vania Filipova -  Harvard University Postgraduate Certificate in Higher Ed Teaching & Learning. Lectures in marketing at Technological University Dublin, and Limerick Institute of Technology. Visiting Lecturer at Karel De Grote University, Belgium. PhD Candidate in Marketing at Technological University Dublin, and member of Alcohol Policy Network Europe.  She is interested in quantitative methods, with a particular emphasis placed on survey experiments as a research method in marketing. She received a BSc.Travel and Tourism Management at American College; MSc. Marketing Management from the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan).

Mr Osita Egbubine

Fellow Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) and MSCI (Full Member) Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment. He was a Manager at PwC and received a Diploma in Investment Compliance (Level 6), Risk in Financial Services, and UK Regulation and Professional Integrity (Level 4) from CISI. He also obtained a Master's degree in Finance and Management from Cranfield University, a qualification in Applied Accounting from ACCA (Association of Chartered Accountants).

Ms Yossie Olaleye

Yossie is a brand storyteller and content strategist with a track record of delivering projects in financial services, healthcare, higher education, charities, and government. A team player with an excellent ability to build trust across all management levels, Yossie works well with everyone, from CEOs and executives to external agency suppliers (design, PR, IT). As a creative with strong operational skills, Yossie has spent her career supporting international organisations and clients with brand development, content strategy, community engagement, and project management. Over the years, she has worked with and consulted for IBM, AVCA Africa, Wellcome Trust, British Heart Foundation, UCL, Imperial College Business School, LSE, and TEDx Brixton.

Dr Dayo Abinusawa

He received his PhD from the University of Cambridge and an MBA from the University of Glasgow. He is a published author and led European deal origination at yet2Ventures (a US venture capital firm). Dayo lectured at King’s College London, and Cambridge Judge Business School. He was Vice Chair of the Governing Board at the Aspire Academies Trust.

Dr Dief NOCHI FAHA

A consultant and research fellow at the World Bank for the Governance Global Practice. Prior to these positions, Nochi was a lecturer in economics at the University of Rennes 1 and the University of Le Mans in France.  Dief also worked as a consultant for IHS Markit covering the Central Africa region. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from the Center for Research in Economics & Management and a master’s in economic and financial engineering from the University of Rennes 1 ( France). His research has been published in the European Journal of Development Research and in Resources Policy. He also serves as Berkeley Initiative for Transparency in Social Sciences (BITSS) Catalyst.   

Mr Hamilton Amachree - Member of the UK Institute for Learning (IfL) and UK Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM). He is also an Associate of City & Guilds Institute (ACGI). Mr Amachree was a member of the governing board at Barking College. Mr Amachree received a BSc. Mechanical Engineering at Imperial College, University of London; PGCE (Post-Compulsory Education) from the University of Greenwich, and PGDE (Special Education) Inclusion & Disability Studies, Institute of Education, University of London.
